One of the Best Goal Keepers in the World Cup - 2010 - Iker Casillas

29 year-old Iker Casillas Fernandez is a talented goalkeeper and reckoned by many in the football world to be one of the best playing today. He is the first team goalkeeper for La Liga's Real Madrid and also plays that for the Spanish National Team. Currently Iker is the Vice Captain of Real Madrid and as Captain of the National Team, led Spain to its first European Championship in 44 years in 2008.
As befits a player of his caliber, Casillas has earned numerous awards, trophies and honors. Along with his talented teammates, Iker aided in Real Madrid obtaining their 31st La Liga title in 2007/2008, a season in which he conceded only 32 goals in 36 games and took him the coveted Zamora Trophy as a reward. His performance also earned him a spot on the UEFA Team of the Year, again. In fact, he has been named to that prestigious team three times (2007, 2008 and 2009).
In spite of reputed attempts by other teams to buy Casillas from Real Madrid, the transfer window passed in and he remained with the organization that he considers his "boyhood team". At just 27, Casillas has been capped 454 times, the most of any goalkeeper in the club's history.
